ABOUT

We build the systems, then we run them.

Duxcon is deliberately small and senior, and works forward deployed — inside your operation rather than across a conference table — building and running the systems that carry your routine work. We live with what we ship, so we build it to last.

THE DEPLOYMENT LOOP — HOW AN ENGAGEMENT RUNS

THE THESIS

AI and automation are not the future of this work — they are the present. Almost none of it is running inside a real business yet.

What is already solved

The capability is real and it ships today. Models that read a messy invoice and get the line items right. Systems that watch a queue and act on what lands in it. Integrations that carry a record between two tools nobody built to talk to each other. None of that is a research problem any more — most of it you can simply buy.

What is not

Deployment. Between a capability that works in a demo and a system your team relies on at 9 p.m. on a Friday sits your data, your volume, your exceptions, and someone who owns it the night it fails. Most automation never crosses that stretch. Crossing it is the entire job we sign up for.

WHERE WE COME IN

The systems are here. Someone has to deploy them.

Plenty of automation advice comes from people who have never had to keep a system running at 9 p.m. during a live event. We have. The name says it — dux, Latin for leader — and the work is exactly that: taking the routine load off your team so the people can lead, decide, and build.

There is a name for how we work: forward deployed. We work inside your operation rather than across a table from it — against your real data, your real volume, and your real exceptions from the first week — and we stay accountable for whether the system runs, not for whether it matched a document. Building to a written spec and handing over is a good way to deliver a project with a finish line. Automation doesn't have one: it changes the day your business changes.

So we work in small, verified steps. We map how your operation actually runs, rank the automations by the hours they return, and build the highest-value ones first — each shipped as a piece you can watch work before it goes live. Then we stay on to run it, because a system nobody is watching is a system quietly drifting toward the day it breaks.

Whether it's the busywork between your tools, an AI assistant that finally knows your business, the integrations that stop the copy-paste, or the website your customers meet first — the goal is the same. The work runs itself, and you get back to running the business.

THE MODEL

Two ways this work gets delivered

The difference is not effort or talent — it is where the engineer sits and what they are accountable for.

How it starts

We work inside your operation first, then scope what we actually find there.

What you get

Working software in your own tools — at every step, not only at the end.

How success is judged

The work runs in your operation and returns the hours we projected.

What happens at handover

There isn't one. We keep running it alongside your team.

When things change

Expected. Watching for drift and adjusting is the standing job.

Both models do good work — project-based delivery is the right shape when the job has a clear finish line. Automation rarely does: it changes the day your business changes. That is why we work forward deployed — inside the operation, accountable for the system long after the day it goes live.

HOW WE WORK

Six things we hold to

We sign up for outcomes

We're accountable for the thing actually working inside your operation, not just for handing over a deliverable. If it isn't running, we aren't done — and we're still here when it is.

Ship, don't slideware

Every phase ends with something you can see working. We'd rather show you a running automation than a roadmap of one.

Small pieces, verified

Nothing touches your live operation until you've watched it run. Small, reviewed changes beat big-bang launches.

You stay in control

Approvals where you want them, guardrails on the AI, and a person in the loop by default. Automation should feel like leverage, not loss of control.

What we build is yours

The systems run on your accounts, under your name, and you keep the keys. Care is a service on top of what we built, not a hold over it.

We run what we build

Automation is an operation, not a hand-off. We monitor what we ship and keep it earning its keep long after launch.
